Hobonichi Techo 2017 Unboxing

I received my Hobonich Techo 2017 last week and unboxed it ! Some people were curious of what it was when I mentionned it in an post before, it’s basically a planner with high quality paper that allows people to be very creative (more info). Although the paper is thin, watercolor doesn’t bleed through, which is an amazing feature to me.

My first Hobonichi was the 2016 one. I use the monthly planner section to have an overview of appointments, deadlines etc. and to plan out things, then I use the daily planner section like some kind of journal but I also write my homework and other reminders there. I’ve been doing a mediocre job at filling the daily section to be honest but it’s getting better recently. I guess I accepted the fact that I can’t fill it every single day so I’m using those pages to write some notes.

I haven’t bought much because the only shipping option is EMS which is a bit pricey but the more I think about it, the more I think that I should have ordered more stuff because of that haha! But anyway, I got the English translated Hobonichi Techo planner and the Thank You All cover designed by 6%DOKIDOKI’s Sebastian Masuda. I ordered my planner early this year and seems like I was right to do so because the cover was sold out quickly.

Last year, I got the Japanese version of the planner by mistake so I made sure I didn’t repeat the same mistake! The pen and the toast plate were free gifts 🙂 I love this ball pen because the tip is thin but I don’t recommend using it to write over, when you use corrector because the pen doesn’t work properly after that (I made that mistake twice and I regret it).

The cover is really nice, with multiple pockets! I watched a lot of Hobonichi inspiration videos on Youtube and it always amazes me how people can be so creative. Sometimes I see a nice idea and am like “why didn’t I think of this sooner??”. This was the case for the washi tape cards, it’s so useful to bring your tapes with you and you can slip them into the cover’s pockets.

The planner fits perfectly !

In other news, chool started for me and I’ve been feeling tired because it’s been a while I haven’t been that busy, I guess. Hopefully, it’ll be fine soon!

Thanks for sharing an unboxing Delphine! I loved all your washi tape designs omg. Even that precious nyanko-Sensei one x3 He’s so cute I’m jelly haha I don’t have one at all. I really love the details for this cover especially that doll house one is so cute. And the inner yellow makes it even more fun and a happy atmosphere. I like how their gift is a toast this year. Its just so cute. Good luck on your school and hopefully hobo will be a great companions with your everyday this coming year 💖

Those sound really cool! I love using planners. I took a look at the website and I love that you can tell how much time and effort they put into each of their planners. And it’s also cool how you can customize the planner with different covers too!

Yeah totally! You can do a lot of things to make it unique too. To me, it’s like keeping some kind of private blog haha minus the planning.

Ooooh, that looks like an awesome stash 😀 I can see why these would appeal to some people. I love my simple planner, but this is a great one to get creative with! And I have to say I am impressed that the paper’s thin, but watercolour doesn’t bleed through. Wuuuuut XD

Yes! I think that the possibility to get creative (+ quality papaer obviously) is the main selling point of this planner 😀 but I’ve also seen people doing great things with it without drawing on it or decorations. It’s incredible how many uses are possible.

That looks like an amazing planner! 😀 Very cute! I like the way it’s set out too! Have you heard of Bullet Journals? They are my go-to planners, I love using them because I can customise it anyway that I like 😀 And they don’t go through the pages/bleed through 😀

    Good luck with school!

Oh my, I like the idea of the Hobonichi planners. Ever since Tristan and I started college in 2014, I have noticed that we both tend to use our planners quite a bit. Usually, our college will have planners already made for free. However, this semester they didn’t make any planners. I was kind of bummed because I liked the planners that we received from school. I actually went out earlier on in this semester and bought a couple of planners for this year. One will be for just homework assignments and the other for doctors appointments and such. Pretty organized.

    Good luck with school!

Oh yeah, is there any way that you can update your links from poetry-notes.com to jayology.net ?

That planner looks so awesome. I love the fact that it has good paper and it won’t bleed with watercolour! It can be hard to get the right kind of paper. I hope you have a lot of fun with it. 😀
