October already!
School started nearly 2 weeks ago so that’s why I haven’t been around lately :’) This year seems a lot tougher than what I used to know and I really need to achieve good grades if I want to continue my degree next year so I can’t slack off too much… To be honest I haven’t been doing anything really interesting during those 2 weeks aside of going to school (and eating, if anyone follows me on Instagram lol). Organization is still a mess, but well, French administration is famous for this.
At the beginning of September, I tried to dye my hair in a lighter color but it failed miserably haha. I ordered 3 boxes of Palty hair dye on Yesstyle and got the shades Raspberry Macaroon, Milk Tea Brown and Dark Ganache. I used Milk Tea Brown first, since I’ve always wanted light-colored hair for a while and this shade is quite popular among customers but I didn’t get the results I expected… Most of my hair wasn’t dark since I dyed it in a lighter color before but I think it wasn’t light enough to produce the color I wanted so my hair color didn’t really change in the end. At least it evened out my dark roots !

Yesterday morning, I got a Wechat message from a Japanese friend I made back in Beijing during my 1st semester. He sent me pictures of macarons he had in a French bakery in Japan. In China, when I was feeling a bit homesick, I bought some macarons once and gave him one because he told me he never had the opportunity to taste them and loved it. I was happy that he reminisced about that time haha! We caught up with each other too and he told me he might travel to Europe with some friends for his graduation trip next March. He’ll probably drop by France if he does, so we might see each other. Great news! /o\
Today, Vente Privée (a French flash sale website) opened a private sale for Rimmel so I decided to get a few products! I never owned any product of the brand and I thought it’d be nice to try out new things as I don’t really buy Western drugstore makeup (except for a few Bourjeois and Maybelline products I bought in the past). I tend to buy a lot of Korean and Japanese makeup because I think they suit my features more, especially when it comes to skin cosmetics. However, I want to test more Western drugstore makeup since it’d be less of a hassle to get them, really. As much as I love Majolica Majorca‘s mascaras, it’s expensive to buy them from France 🙁 so I’m trying to find an alternative.
I got a bundle including an orange pouch, an Extra Super Lash mascara and a soft khol pencil, then a few nail polishes. The order should arrive next month 😀
Finally, Rezina introduced me to Marimo lately and I got so much into those fluffy balls of algae that I decided to buy some sometime soon! Maybe around December when I’ll probably get a new desk and when I’ll do a big cleaning in my room with my sis. I’m totally looking forward to buying them! I’ll start thinking of names!

I’m so excited for your marimo! You should totally take a picture once you have them set up.
I’ve heard that dying dark hair is really hard, haha and most of the time it becomes a multi-step process.

Ah, I know how you feel about the busy school/uni life! I’ve been gone for 2 weeks too but just got back xD
Is your hair black? When I was dying my virgin black hair, I used light ash blonde from Loreal. It turned my hair a very light brown, after a few months I put brown on it and it turned a lovely brown colour, it did look orange in the light so I had to use like purple shampoo to get rid of all the brassy tones. Maybe try that?
I used to love Rimmel I used it everyday but I’ve slowly moved on to higher end products just because I felt like RImmel was heavy on me like foundation and eyeliner wise but it is such a good brand dont get me wrong! I still buy their nail varnishes xD

My hair is originally black yeah :’D The first time I dyed them, I used a blonde shade from L’Oréal as well, my hair became light brown but the roots ended up slightly lighter than the lengths… Maybe I should try it again someday yeah, and be careful to not put too much dye on the roots lol

I know how you feel about school. School for me has been keeping me busy as well. Though, I’ve been told that it gets harder after your first year, and those that have told me this are correct. Hmm, the middle picture on the middle box looks a lot like Ayumi Hamasaki (I am pretty sure that is her), and so does the third to the right of the middle one. Hair color depends on the color texture of our hair. Some times, we think it’s going to turn out a certain color, and it doesn’t. Just keep trying.
