March 2018: The Recap + Favorites

Hi guys! Life hasn’t been super exciting lately but I decided to get my stuff together and write this month’s recap to look back on the few things that happened and things I’ve enjoyed.

I updated the theme of my blog – I guess it was about time, my last theme was on for ages and there were some bugs that I was a bit lazy to fix, so I bought and customized one this time. Next time I try to code a WP theme, I’ll make sure to have a better knowledge of PHP first…

I’m exercising again – I subscribed to a gym memebership this month. I try to go every week at least just to keep myself in shape and not look like I’m going to die when I run to catch a bus! Sor far, I’ve been mainly doing cardio and I want to try out weights but I feel intimidated although I know it’s stupid and nodoby’s watching…

I attended Salon du Livre 2018 – It’s the biggest bookfair of the country I didn’t get to do as much as I wanted to though, since I went there with classmates to do some research for a group project on Ebooks. We had really interesting exchanges with professionals and it was enjoyable.

I had to leave right after we were done with our research since I was meeting my friend Mélodie who came to Paris to work at a tourism fair which was right next to the book fair. After a long walk, we had slices of delicious vegan pizza at Hank Pizza! It’s a place I would definitely recommend if you happen to stop by Paris, the staff is nice and English-speaking too. They also have a burger restaurant named Hank Burger.

I started reading a new book – I felt self-conscious about reading again since the bookfair and tried to encourage myself to read books. Recently, I started reading Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World.

It’s a good book (although some things grossed me out) and I can’t believe how a book that was published in the 30s like this one is still relevant today.

I started a new Bullet Journal – My life has been a mess lately in terms of organization so I’m trying to stop the laisser-aller !! I will post about my setup and spreads later 🙂

Favorites

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 – RuPaul’s Drag Race is a US TV drag queen contest and it has definitely been my latest obsession! I binge watched seasons 6 to 9 in February, since they were available on Netflix France…

I watched with French subtitles at first but they were inconsistent between the episodes so I ended up turning them off. They helped me a bit in understanding drag queen lingo though. I was really unfamiliar with this world (or it’s maybe because I’m French, I don’t know) and it was a bit hard to get what this or that word meant sometimes.

The show been going on for a decade now, with Season 10 currently airing since last week and I feel like the level just goes up a notch in every season, it’s amazing! I love the creativity of every queen and what they bring to the show!

I’m going to see the RuPaul’s Drag Race WERQ THE WORLD TOUR show in June with my friend Julia. I’m so happy they added a new date for Paris because the first show was sold out before we even heard about it !

Nailed It – I happened to stumble upon this show while browsing Netflix’s homepage and anything related to food catches my attention so I ended up watching the first episode of Nailed It. It’s basically a baking competition in which 3 inexperienced bakers must reproduce a beautiful and complicated cakes or baking goods.

The results are hilarious and I live for the host Nicole Byer, she’s so funny! I love the whole mood of this show.

There are only 6 episodes for season one, so it’s pretty quick to binge watch if you want something short. The show has been renewed for a second season and I can’t wait to watch it!!

Hello there Delphine! I happened upon your blog, and have to say your theme is very cheerful and cute. I love it =D

Also, while my french is pretty spotty still, I still hope to visit France within the next couple of years. Even if only for a few days. Unfortunately, I don’t get out much :S

    That pizza looks delicious *drool*

My best friend actually convinced me to watch Drag Race and I admit, I was skeptical, didn’t think I would like it or could get into it, and boy, was I wrong!? I absolutely love it. I’ve only seen a few episodes and definitely plan on binging when I’m finished my latest series.

I’ve started exercising as well, but more-so to become more active and try to lose weight. Mostly doing some walking and a little bit of running. I’ve been checking out a few gyms but haven’t signed up for a membership or anything since I’m not sure if this is a phase or something I’m going to (hopefully) stick with.

I love your blog. So glad that I found you. 🙂

The new theme is great! I love the banner :3

Good on you for exercising! And that bookfair sounds so cool. *_* Vegan pizza sounds so good!

I’ve heard of Brave New World, but I’ve not read it. Makes me wonder how it’s gross and it’s relevant today, so I guess I should read it one day!

I love Nailed It! We watched the entire series in a couple of days because it’s so good. I love seeing their finished cakes – some are truly awful!

The book fair sounds like a lot of fun! I’ve really gotten back into reading this year after years of being on and off with it, so I wouldn’t worry about it. Just enjoy the books you have time to read!

That pizza looks so good! I really want to order a pizza now!

I like the theme you have on the site! I haven’t tried to make a WordPress theme in a long time and I don’t know if it is more complicated or less, but in the past, there was a lot of PHP to work with. Sometimes buying a theme that you really like is completely worth it. I have done it soooo many times because I find a design and have to use it!

Nailed It was so funny! I haven’t watched the second season yet, but I am sure I will soon. Some of the results are so hilarious!

Whoa! I haven’t been visiting blogs in so long–I had no idea your theme changed. I really like it! I like your cute icon too <3 Salon du Livre sounds super interesting. I've always wanted to go to a book fair but there isn't really one nearby.

RuPaul's Drag Race is so much fun! I've seen one season. I think it was 9? It was the one with Kim Chi! That's so cool you're seeing a RuPaul show!

I love this post. I am so addicted to Nailed It! I feel like it doesn’t get as much attention as it should. But then again maybe that’s just me 😀 I definitely need to get back into reading myself lol i just feel like alot of the times i don’t have enough time.

I’ve been buying themes as well. It’s not that I don’t love coding anymore, but I just don’t have the attention span. I’ve been in the same mindset as well, “eh, next time I’ll code one.”. LOL.. This one looks great though!

Finding the motivation to exercise is such a struggle for me. Kudos to you. 🙂
